Reflect was a site-specific installation presenting illuminated geometric cutwork in the form of an interactive sculpture. Utilising digital technologies to enhance Islamic patterns allowed for the traditionally 2D format to be bought forth into the 3D world.

The results of user interaction provided real-time manipulation within the space affecting the projected lighting. The physical activity represents the emotional encounter with feelings of intrigue, enquiry and understanding which evolve upon further exploration of the work. There is an attempt to make sense of what is viewable and how the viewer impacts the artwork.

An altering display of structured patterns and distorted shapes in constant flux upon the water-jet cut steel alludes to theories of how our environment provides a reflection of Divine creation.
