Digital Light: Code Makers at Bletchley Park

Digital Light still - Sara Choudhrey, 2020

I was commissioned by MKIAC to produce and contribute artwork towards a large-scale, projection mapped animation. This was displayed as part of for a free public art in March 2020, projected onto the famously iconic mansion at Bletchley Park.

Geometry is a means to explore mathematics, representing the relationship between numbers and their ability to convey complex ideas around how the universe is structured and works. One great development that arose from the Islamic world was through the work of Persian mathematician Al-Khwarizmi (which is also where the term algorithm is derived). Algorithms and algebra are the foundation upon which computing instructions have been developed. The Digital Light: Code Makers project looked to convey these themes together, forming a means to make connections between people and the sciences in a creative way.
