I was commissioned by MKIAC to create artwork and produce a narrative for a large-scale, projection-mapped animation to be unveiled upon the iconic mansion at Bletchley Park. This was displayed as part of their public art event Digital Light: Code Makers at Bletchley Park in March 2020. The site is world-famous and historically plays a large role in the development of computer technologies, the understanding of programming and the role of algorithmic patterns in computer coding.

My contribution to the project related to a visualisation of the above themes. Contributing Islamic geometry became a means to explore visually represented mathematics, the relationship between numbers and their ability to convey complex ideas around how the universe is structured and works. One great development that arose from the Islamic world was through the work of Persian mathematician Al-Khwarizmi (which is also where the term algorithm is derived). Algorithms and algebra are the foundation upon which computing instructions have been developed. The Digital Light: Code Makers project looked to convey these themes together, to make connections between people, cultures and the sciences in a creative way.
